2017 ACE Award Winners
These three individuals are recognized for their outstanding achievements in remanufacturing. Three scholarships, one in honor of each winner, have been established to encourage future industry leaders to become more engaged with remanufacturing before graduation.

Brian Waldo, Director of Remanufacturing at Sullair Remanufacturing LLC was nominated for his effective leadership of the company’s whole-goods reman program since its inception, overseeing explosive growth and significant program expansion.
Waldo reflected on the honor of winning the award saying “I am deeply honored to be able to accept this prestigious award. The Remanufacturing Industries Council continues to set the industry standard with education and training in the remanufacturing field. I am humbled and forever grateful for this tremendous recognition.”

Nabil Nasr, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) & Director of RIT’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability was nominated for single-handedly bringing credibility to remanufacturing as an industry and for a great number of accomplishments including the recent award of the REMADE Institute and appointment as its CEO.
Nasr expressed his appreciation for the award saying “While I am truly honored to receive this award from an industry for which I care so much, this honor belongs to my entire team. RIT has partnered with the remanufacturing industry for more than 25 years to understand the challenges companies face. We are thrilled to have our contributions to this important industry be recognized.”

Chintan Sopariwala, General Manager, Remanufacturing and Core Operations at Navistar, was nominated for accelerating reman growth at Navistar, launching industry’s first Core Advantage Program that recovered precious core from over 1000+ end of life vehicles and hosting Navistar Reman Day, which brought together over 1,000 Navistar employees and suppliers to educate them on Navistar’s remanufacturing operations, capabilities, and future opportunities.
Sopariwala conveyed his gratitude for the award saying “I am grateful and honored – it is always great to be recognized by your peers in the industry. It is very encouraging to see the active interest and growing involvement of companies worldwide in remanufacturing. It is one of those few professions that will challenge your entrepreneurial skills and give you an opportunity to make a positive impact to the environment.”
